  1. Accents are your friends,
And yeah, they are my friends too.

    There are some rules that
    you just have to follow
    Let’s start with Rule #1
    Cuz it’s not that malo

If the word ends with a vowel
Or even an “N” or an “S”
    The stress goes on the
    second to last syllable

    These are the accent rules
    Just some accent rules
    Very useful in Spanish class

    If it follows the rule
You can just leave it alone
Now onto rule two, it’s nothing new
    Check out the last letter
    That’s your fist clue

If the word ends with a consonant
Except for that “N” or that silly “S”
The stress goes on the last syllable

    These are the accent rules
    Just some accent rules
    Very useful in Spanish class

    These are the accent rules
    Just some accent rules
    Very useful in Spanish
    Very useful in Spanish class

    Now comes rule #3
This is the one that’s very key
If a word breaks rule #1 or #2,
an accent mark there will be

    Very useful in Spanish class

    Everybody wants accent marks
come on it's really not that hard
we're gonna put them on as fast as lightning
    Let's start with rule #1

If a word ends in a vowel n or s
the stress belongs on the second to last
everyone knows now you just need to learn how

Repeat chorus but change end to
    Lets continue to #2

    I f a word ends in a consonant except n or s
you add the stress to the syllable thats last
you are learning them pretty good now just come on and follow
you're getting them pretty fast, now time to learn the last

chorus change last part to: lets finish with rule three (do chorus 2x)

It ain't really cool if it breaks a rule
then you have to add an accent mark to match

    OOOOOOOOOOO(fade out)

You would not believe your eyes
    If ten million accent marks
Lit up my mind as I fell asleep
Cause they’d fill the open words
    And pronounce words right everywhere
You’d think I’m wrong but I would just stand and – say

If a word ends in a vowel
Or n or s the stress
Goes on the second to last syllable
Cause accent marks are never as they seem

Cause I’d get a thousand hugs
    From ten thousand accent marks
As they tried to teach me how to speak
An accent mark above my head
A word changes beneath my hand
The Spanish word is just hanging by a thread

Leave my word open for a mark
Please take me to Spanish class
I stopped and think how to say it right
Please take me to Spanish class
What should I do to pass this test?
Please take me to spanish class
When I’m far too tired to study hard

    To ten million accent marks
I’m sure I’ve got it now
    I got rule # 1 and # 2
    Down in a second
    I get confused
I would think and write and remember

If a word breaks a rule
    It gets a written mark
Cause I’d say its really not that hard

I’d like to make myself believe
    That accent marks are easy
Cause accent mark rules are very simple now
Because I’d say it’s really not too hard

    In the first rule

    Let’s learn our accents
    Learn our accents
    Where the stress goes

    In the second rule
The last syllable has the stress
If the word ends in a consonant
    Other than n or s
    Ends in a consonant, consonant
    Accent rules, accent rules

    Teach me, oh, teach me
    Just wanna learn accent rules
    Only three rules is enough

Lyrics written to the song of : I Am The Walrus

Accent marks are simple; there are only three rules that you have to know. It will only take a couple of minuets, we’ll tell you how. It’s easy.

Now this is the first rule, just look at the word. If it ends in a vowel, or in N or in S, The stress just goes on to the second to last syllable. If you have a word, that follows this rule, There’s no accent mark.
    That’s all you do.

Its time for rule number two,
The stress is on the last syllable if a word ends in a consonant, But this doesn't work if the word ends in "n" or "s". It’s easy, It’s easy

Here is the third rule, see how easy it is. If it breaks the 1st rule, or the 2nd rule Boy, you got to find the stress; you got find where it is. You got to put an accent, an accent mark. Right on the stress.
    That’s all you do.

Beautiful words all over the page
I could be guessin but my time would
    Be wasted
    Unless you know those rules
    Know those rules

    Here’s the 1st rule
When a word ends in a
    Vowel n or s
    The stress goes on
    the second to last syllable
    second to last

    Here’s the 2nd rule
When a word ends in a
    Consonant besides n or s
Stress goes on the last syllable
    Last syllable

Beautiful words all over the page
I could be guessin but my time would
    Be wasted
    Unless you know those rules
    Know those rules

    Here’s the last rule
If a word breaks a rule
It gets a accent mark where the stress is
    Yeah where the stress is

Beautiful words all over the page
I could be guessin but my time would
    Be wasted
    Unless you know those rules
    Know those rules

    An Accent Mark

    3 rules to use accents
And we can tell you how

    Rule 1 is really simple
    Ends in a vowel, n, or s
    Stress the 2nd to last

When you see these words dont use an accent mark, an accent mark
toman, antes have no accent mark, no accent mark.

    Rule 2 is also easy
All you need to do is this
You'll have it down without a miss
If it ends in a consonant
    Besides n or s
Just put stress on the last

Truth be told it's easy. Just try it and you'll see

When you see these words don't use and accent mark, an accent mark
nariz, hablar have no accent mark, no accent mark
If you use one on your test you will get it wrong
Cuz you're a fool, because you used an accent mark.

    Oh an accent mark

But rule 3's a little harder
If it breaks rule 1 or 2
Mark the letter that the stress is on

Truth be told it's easy. Just try it and you'll see.

With these words you use an accent mark, an accent mark
Lápiz, inglés have an accent mark, an accent mark
If you use one on your test, you will get an a
Now you know 3 rules 'bout how to use accent marks

All the words stomp your feet like this

Spanish class won’t be so hard
If you learn to play the accent card
These are the accent rules yeah
    Yeah the accent rules x2

    Oooh, here’s the riles
    Here’s the rules x4

If a word ends in these letter,
    Vowels, n or s,
Put the stress on the 2nd to last… syllable
    That’s rule #1, we’ve got it down
But we’re not done, there’s 2 more rules
Don’t worry, they’re easy to learn, rules are the key

    Spanish class….. x2
    Oooh… x4

    Rule #2, here it goes
Listen up now, it’s comin’ at ya’
If a word ends in a consonant,
    Except for n or s
    The stress is put
    On the last syllable
    Here’s #3
    Breaks 1 or 2
It gets a written accent mark on the stressed syllable

    Spanish class……. x2
    Oooh………x3****
(*it’s too fast otherwise if we have all four, so skip 4th oooh and wait about 3 seconds)

Let me hear you say (pause) these acentos
    A-C-E-N-T-O-S

    (pause) these acentos
    A-C-E-N-T-O-S

    Again, (pause) these acentos
    A-C-E-N-T-O-S

    (pause) these acentos

Wake up in the morning and I’m ready to study.
Grab my glasses, I’m out to Spanish, I’m gonna get an A.
Before I leave, read and learn all the accent marks,
‘Cause when I leave for the day, I’m gonna get an A.

I’m talking ‘bout rule number one ain’t hard, hard.
If it ends in a vowel, n or s,
Second to last syllable gets stress, stress.

    Book-dropping
    Studying all the marks, marks,
Pulling up to the school yard,
    Trying not to fail.

    Don’t stop, read and learn
    Teacher, give me an A
Tonight Ima study till we see the sunlight.
Tik tok on the clock, but the studying won’t stop no.
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh

    Don’t stop, read and learn
    Teacher, give me an A
Tonight Ima study till we see the sunlight.
Tik tok on the clock, but the studying won’t stop no.
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh

    Here’s rule number two,
    Try to follow along.
If it ends in a consonant
    Except for n or s,
The last syllable gets the stress ‘cause that’s just how it goes.
But we kick ‘em to the curb
    Unless they roll like Señora.

    I’m talking ‘bout everybody getting A’s, A’s.
No longer will we be in a daze, daze,
It’s like we’ve gotten right out of a maze, maze.

    Nah, nah
We go until they boost our grades, grades
Or the marks get erased from the page, page
    Marks erased from page, page
    Marks erased from page.

    Don’t stop, read and learn
    Teacher, give me an A
Tonight Ima study till we see the sunlight.
Tik tok on the clock, but the studying won’t stop no.
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh

    Don’t stop, read and learn
    Teacher, give me an A
Tonight Ima study till we see the sunlight.
Tik tok on the clock, but the studying won’t stop no.
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh

    If a word breaks
    Either, of the rules
Than it gets an, accent mark
    On the stress
    That’s rule number three
Make sure it’s on the strongest part

    If a word breaks
    Either, of the rules
Than it gets an, accent mark
    On the stress
    That’s rule number three
    It’s rule number three!

Now the marks aren’t learned till we walk in.

    Don’t stop, read and learn
    Teacher, give me an A
Tonight Ima study till we see the sunlight.
Tik tok on the clock, but the studying won’t stop no.
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh

    Don’t stop, read and learn
    Teacher, give me an A
Tonight Ima study till we see the sunlight.
Tik tok on the clock, but the studying won’t stop no.
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh
    Ohh- ohh- ah-ohh

I add accent marks at night
I add accent marks in the afternoon
    It makes me feel al-right
I add accent marks in time of class
And add them in time of peace
I add accent marks before i add accent marks
and then i add two more

Becky she once told me you should listen to the stress.
She said only three rules aa-pply to the accent marks.
    an then one day
a merry man came to me and said
the first rule is, if word end in vowel n or s. and if stress is second to last the no accent mark applies.

    He also said
if a word in a consonant
other than n or s and stress is on the last syllable then no accent mark applies

he said one last thing if any rule is broken then accent marks apply.

I add accent marks in the morning
I add accent marks at night
I add accent marks in the afternoon
    It makes me feel al-right
I add accent marks in time of class
